API organized a work visit to Sudan


The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized a work mission to the Republic of Sudan during the period from 8 to 10 April 2014.  The mission aimed at strengthening ties between API and member states, and also to promote dialogue and exchange of opinions and experiences with national development institutions in the hope to better understand their needs in the areas of capacity building and finding practical solutions to development challenges. API delegate attended in a series of high level meetings and organized a series of workshops. In this context API delegate met his Excellency the Federal minister and his deputy of finance and national economy. The delegate met also the Federal and State (Khartoum) Ministers of human resources and labor. Both governor of Khartoum and the head of business association organized a working dinner in honor of API delegate. The delegate also met the Director General of the investment Directorate of the State of Khartoum, and visited the Azhari University. API delegate also organized a series of promotional workshops that aimed at introducing API and helps in shaping the work agenda of cooperation with the republic of Sudan. Three workshops were organized in the ministry of finance and in the training center of trainers and in the national training institute. API also participated in a workshop on Arab food security that looked at the role of API to help in implementing Sudan’s initiative in reaching Arab food security. Three important memorandum of cooperation were signed between API and the ministry of finance and national economy, the ministry of human resources and labor, and the association of Sudanese businessmen.
