The
Arab Planning Institute organized a training workshop on "Gender and
Development" in collaboration with the Jordanian Ministry of Manpower
during the period from 30/06 to 07/04/2013 as part of the Professional
Certificate in Arab countries entitled "Human Capital Development".
The main objective of the workshop was to familiarize the participants with the
concepts and methodologies related to gender and its impact on development; the
workshop also focused on how to monitor the gender gap in various fields of
development and on how to integrate gender in development policies. The
workshop included some applications on gender indicators and how they are
measured, as well as to identify the impact of including gender in development
indicators on decision-making related to development. The workshop was held at
the headquarters of the training and employment center of the Jordanian
Ministry of Manpower, and was attended by 26 trainees from the Ministry of
Manpower, especially from a number of labor directorates in the Jordanian
governorates, as well as participants from the woman directorate of the
Ministry of Manpower.
