Labour Markets Development


The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized a Professional Certificate on "Labour Markets Development" for the benefit of The Ministry of Labour in Amman, Jordan during the period from 9/6 to 20/6/2013.  The Certificate included two workshops, the first on "Labour Markets Analysis", and the second on “Employment Policies”.  

 The purpose of the first workshop was to identify the nature of labor markets and how to analyze determinants of the demand for, and supply of labor in the context of the Jordanian economy. The workshop also looked at the nature of labor market institutions and analyze their impact on wages, and labor market equilibrium, and analyzed the phenomenon of unemployment, as well as how to assess the impact of policies on labor markets outcomes.

 The purpose of the second workshop was to enhance the skills of participants in the practical issues regarding employment policies and encourage them to engage in constructive discussions on how best to implement such policies.
