As part of the drive of API to providedevelopment services to Arab countries in general and to the State of Qatar inparticular, an official delegation from the API headed by Prof. Dr. Walid Abdmoulah– Deputy Director of the Arab Planning Institute, and Prof. Dr. Belkacem Laabas– Senior Adviser visited the State of Qatar Monday, March 21, 2022, toparticipate as key speakers in the workshop on "Developing IndustrialClusters to Promote Transformational Growth". The workshop was organizedin cooperation with the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. Departing from thereality and challenges of the Qatari economy, the workshop stressed theimportance of developing industrial clusters as part and parcel of modernindustrial policies that are vital in promoting economic growth,diversification, structural transformation, and competitiveness in the State ofQatar given its critical importance in achieving Qatar Vision 2030. Theworkshop also analyzed the methodology of developing industrial clusters andthe roles of different stakeholders from both the private sector and differentgovernmental agencies, and in line with successful international experiencesand best practices.
