Signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Council of Ministers General Secretariat (CMGC) in the State of Kuwait and the Arab Planning Institute


A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed between the Council of Ministers General Secretariat (CMGC) in the State of Kuwait and the Arab Planning Institute on Thursday, 24/6/2021. The MOU aims to strengthen cooperation and joint coordination between the two parties in areas related to developmental issues, economic planning, financial and economic reform, good governance and institutional development and other fields of common interest.

The MOU includes a clarification of aspects of cooperation and joint work in the fields of capacity building, consultancy services, research and studies, developmental events and training activities. The Arab planning Institute will contribute to this development cooperation with the preparation of public policy papers on issues of economic, financial, administrative and institutional reforms, enhancement of monitoring and evaluation systems of economic plans and assessing development planning systems. In addition to backing the government orientation towards good governance, supporting the efforts of the General Secretariat in improving institutional development, innovation and knowledge management, assisting in preparation of economic reports in the field of economic and financial performance and detailed reports in identification of development challenges and giving proposals for possible solutions as well as in other areas of development that the two parties agree upon.

A joint committee from the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the Arab Planning Institute will develop an executive program for joint cooperation in accordance with the requirements and needs of the General Secretariat. The committee will periodically evaluate the results of the program implementation to ensure the success of joint efforts in executing the terms of the MOU on the real world and to confirm the provision of the best developmental services to the State of Kuwait.
