The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized
a Training Program on “Economic Diplomacy”, from 22/9/2019 to 26/9/2019 for the benefit of the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs of the State of Palestine in State of Kuwait.

The “Economic Diplomacy” training
program is designed for Palestinian diplomats in the State of Palestine to
provide them with required knowledge and skills in the areas of economic
diplomacy. The program defined economic diplomacy and its role in achieving the
development vision and goals of countries and strengthening their position
under the new global economic arrangements. The general framework governing the
need to develop the functions of the diplomat in the areas of foreign trade and
capital flows are discussed. The program analysed foreign trade structures,
international investment flows and the components of the Palestinian economy
and the roles of economic diplomacy in these areas as well as good practices to
promote commodity and service exports and the attractiveness of the domestic
economy to foreign investment. The functions and roles of international and
regional institutions were subsequently analysed as well as the available ways
of benefiting form them.
