The Arab Planning Institute organized a training program
on “Mechanisms for transformation to knowledge-based economy” for the benefit
of Bahrain Training Institute at the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of
Bahrain during the period 7-9/10/2018. The program aimed at enabling the
participants to acquire the knowledge and skills required to understand and
analyze the mechanisms for transformation to knowledge-based economy in
Bahrain. The program addressed several issues related to the methodology of
assessing knowledge economy performance at country and institution levels and
applying these methods to analyze the status of Bahrain in that respect.
Moreover, the program presented some of the most
successful international experiences in transformation to knowledge-based
economy and discussed the ways to benefit from them.
The program addressed the challenges facing Bahrain
economy and enterprises in transforming to knowledge-based economy and
identified ways to developing Bahraini institutions into knowledge-led ones by
taking praactical examples of the most innovative enterprises regionally and
internationally. In addition to providing the participants with the necessary
skills to build and evaluate national strategies and policies based on the
knowledge economy with special attention paid to investment in human capital.
Finally, the participants presented their view in different alternatives available
to build a comprehensive knowledge economy strategy in Bahrain through
interactive discussion.
