API organized a Training Program on "Public-private partnership
and development" in Lebanon during the period 16/4/2018-18/4/2018.
This program aims to provide participants with the most important issues
and knowledge related to the public and the private sectors and their
contribution in economic and social development. The program aims mainly at
introducing participants to public-private projects and their characteristics. It
focuses, first, on privatization, its objectives, types, reasons and
justifications, and steps to implement the privatization process. The program
reviews the experiences of some Arab and developing countries and whether they
have achieved the desired goals in this field.
The program addresses partnership between the public and private sectors,
as another important economic relationship between the two sectors. The program
focuses on the definition of the public-private partnership concepts, its
importance and objectives, the specific contractual forms of the relationship
between the two sectors, and the requirements and elements of the success of
the partnership process. In addition, some Arab and foreign countries
partnerships experiences are presented, as well as some recommendations of
success of this policy. Finally, the program focuses on the partnership in
Lebanon.
