The program aimed at
developing the skills
necessary for the use of economic and social strategic planning in implementing
the social plans needed for the various departments in the organization. The program also focused on how to deal with future goals of
social work, which is a major challenge in the Sultanate of Oman and in the
other GCC countries due to the many changes that surround the process of social
planning, workforce planning, and labor market imbalances. The focus was on the
economic and social changes that might face the Sultanate in the coming period,
which require the adoption of strategic and social planning in the coming
period. Changes such as economic and demographic changes (changing population
pyramid) and increasing demand for social services in terms of numbers and
percentages of beneficiaries of the services of the Authority.
The program also
dealt with issues of charitable work, internal and external relief projects,
charity projects, orphans' assistance, education, housing, medical and food
programs, and dealing with donors, charity and social responsibility. Revenue
and costs of social and charitable programs, and how to deal with revenue
resources in general, and uses or disbursements on various programs. Finally,
the program focused on how to deal with changes in the internal and external
environment of the organization, as well as dealing with changes in the
internal environment of the body. The external environment that affect the work
of the organization might be political, social, administrative, legal,
technological and environmental factors.
