The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized a training program on
"Mechanisms for Empowering Women and Enhancing their Developmental Role"
for the Basel-Fleihan Institute of Finance and Economy in the Republic
of Lebanon during the period from 2017/3/6 to 2017/3/8.
This program aims to:
1. Taking note of the concept of human development and its dimensions
and areas of social interest.
2- To recognize the concept of women's empowerment and the development
of their human and social rights through the historical stages of the
international system.
3 - To identify the situation of Arab women and the most important
challenges and obstacles facing the empowerment process in the Arab
community.
4- To take cognizance of the concepts of gender and the roles and
responsibilities of men and women to achieve equality and justice among
them.
5 - Identification of statistical data on gender and classified by
gender and development sectors benefiting from them.
6. Identify targeted social policies and appropriate mechanisms to
empower Arab women in the labor market / education / political life.
7. To identify the characteristics of labor markets at the level of sex
and the reality of women's participation in Arab labor markets.
8- To identify the most important indicators related to gender equality
in the Arab countries from the promotion of human development 2014.
9. To identify mechanisms for women's empowerment policies and methods
of analysis.
