Arab Planning Institute (API) has conducted a training workshop, entitled “Strategic Planning” upon a request from the Royal Charity Organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain, , 1-5 November, 2015. The program focused on the main concepts with respect to strategic planning, in particular, the workshop utilizes the concepts used in the social and private strategic planning institutions and bodies and applied it to the Royal Charity Organization strategic plan.
The workshop also aimed to identify the elements of success and the requirements of different stages of strategic planning. In addition to clarifying the theoretical and analytical framework for strategic planning, and the process of formation planning goals. Furthermore the use of the Balanced Scorecard System as a system to measure and monitor the strategic objectives. As well as to identify the Arab experience in strategic planning and development challenges faced by the implementation of these plans in the Arab countries, And to identify some successful experiences in the Strategic Planning and Development (Malaysia and Turkey) and projections on the Arab countries. Finally, the strategic plan of each department at the Royal Charity Organization were discussed, recommendations and assessments were put in place to formulate a new strategy to the Royal Charity Organization.
