The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized a Training Programme on "Competitiveness Policies" for the benefit of Basil Fuleihan Financial Institute of Finance and Economy in Beirut, republic of Lebanon, during the period from 2/11 to 6/11/2015.
The training program aims at:
Familiarizing participants with the concept of economic competitiveness and clarifying the relationship with the economic and social development.
Presenting the major foreign trade theories and their relationship with competitiveness.
Presenting the most prominent reports that rank countries according to their level of competitiveness.
Reviewing how to measure economic competitiveness through a combination of individual and composite indicators used to assess the competitive performance of countries.
Analyzing the economic competitiveness indicators in Lebanon with comparison to some countries, especially Arabic and regional countries.
Showing the methodologies that should enhance and develop the economic competitiveness in Lebanon, with reference to some successful international experiences in this field.
