The SMEs center in the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait held a training program “SMEs finance” in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Finance The Kingdom of Morocco during the period 1-5 June 2015. The program aims to analyze sources of SMEs finance in the Arab countries and the mechanisms that can be used to enhance access to financial services. It also discusses the methods used to estimate SMEs financial needs, the finance gap, and the role of loan guarantee schemes and central banks in bridging the gap. It also discusses Islamic Methods of finance and their applicability in case of SMEs. The program also discussed stages of strategic planning for the SMEs sector and the mechanisms of enhancing their performance and role in development.
