Arab Planning Institute organized a training program in the Sudan on the agricultural sector and agricultural development policies


Arab Planning Institute organized a training program in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and National Economy of the Sudan on the agricultural sector and agricultural development policies during the period 14 – 18 December 2014. The aim of the program is to identify characteristics of the agricultural sector and its role in development, strategy and approaches and types of agricultural development policies and development of the abilities and skills of the preparation, implementation and analysis of agricultural development policies. It discussed the role of the agricultural sector development, concepts and objectives, strategies and agricultural development policies, framework and criteria for agricultural development policies, areas and types of tools and agricultural development policies, causes and methods of State intervention, types of market failures, the theory of producer and consumer surplus, requirements planning, preparation and follow-up of agricultural development policies, types of agricultural development policies and the preparation of agricultural development policies. It also dealt with practical applications in agricultural policy analysis matrix, process applications on a partial equilibrium model.
