Arab Planning Institute organized a training program on "Decentralized Applications in Local Development Management" for the Ministry of Human Development and Labour, Khartoum State of the Republic of Sudan, during the period from 03.01.2015 to 05.03.2015. The program's objectives were achieved by introducing the major concepts of decentralization and local development. The training aimed to strengthen the participants capabilities of understanding the contemporary concepts and applications in the field of decentralization in local development departments at the level of the localities in Khartoum State. As well as, to diagnose and analyze the reality of decentralization in the Arab countries, and the challenges faced by this experience, and to highlight the unique role of the Sudanese experience in this area. Finally, the program focused on the process that will provide the participants the needed skills to assess the decentralization experience in the localities of the state of Khartoum skills applications.
