The Arab Planning Institute (API) organized a Training Program on "Policies to Promote Competitiveness: International and Arab Experiences" for the benefit of The National Council for Training The Ministry of Finance and National Economy in Sudan, during the period from 15/ 2 to 19/ 2/2015.
The aim of the workshop was to critically analyze the concept of competitiveness, and question its relation to development. The program also highlighted the difference between competitiveness environment and competitiveness capacity. Also, it was demonstrated how the concept of national competitiveness is measured by composite indices. The program then shifted towards presenting different policies that are geared toward enhancing national competitiveness based on best practices and successful experiences. The last day of the program was reserved to workgroup that analyzed the policy experiences of Sudan.
